LYRICS
ABOUT THE FUTURE
I guess I really can't help but to worry 'bout the future
And every summer when it's hot I worry 'bout the world
You tell me that to worry, will never help no one
But I guess I really can't help but to worry 'bout my son
I get angry when I hear of all this mean corruption
And I get really sad when I listen to the news
I can't believe that some deny the climate it is changing
But I guess I really can't help but to worry 'bout my son
The future is our responsibility
The future is for you and for me
The future, no it won't just be okay
The future is on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (and Today)
When I look back on my life I have a few regrets
Like why I wasn't there to teach my son the alphabet
If I had a wish I'd make some past mistakes undone
And I guess I really can’t help but to worry ‘bout my son
I really should start to believe in the younger generations
And trust my son to do the right thing and find his way
I hope there's time enough before the earth kisses the sun
But first of all, I should stop to worry 'bout my son
